A Bit About Me !

                   Welcome, everyone! I am Aurora, as in the Borealis, and I'm from Tempe, Arizona! My academic interests include international relations, anthropology, human rights, and foreign languages; I have been studying Mandarin Chinese for 5 years! I really enjoy learning about different cultures and languages and I aspire to travel a lot in my future and career. I am also a determined activist and I try my best to keep up with current global and community issues. I am hoping my journey here, at Agnes Scott, guides me to be a better leader in social justice. I specifically advocate for issues under collective liberation and the abolishment of the police-prison industrial complex. I have experience with local grassroots organizations including Poder In Action (https://www.poderinaction.org/) and Black Lives Matter PHXMetro (https://www.blmphxmetro.org/), back home in organizing political education and protest events for the community. I am very passionate about service work especially for the unhoused population. Back home, I volunteered for a homeless outreach group called AZ Hugs for over a year; Each week my grandma and I would cook and then I would serve it out.
